Back2Soccer
Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims and Assumption of Risk
Version 2026-09-29
Please read carefully. This is a legal document that affects your legal rights.
By signing, you give up certain legal rights, including the right to sue Back2Soccer and others for injury or loss caused by their negligence.
Program and Operator
This agreement is with Back2Soccer ("Back2Soccer").
It applies to all Back2Soccer activities, including warm-ups, drills, fitness exercises, skills training, small-sided games, scrimmages, clinics and free trial sessions (the "Program"), at any location where the Program is held.
Coverage Period
This agreement applies to every Program session I attend during the 12 months following the date I sign it (the "Coverage Period").
The release in Section 7 continues to apply to any claim arising from a session I attended during the Coverage Period, even after the Coverage Period ends.
If Back2Soccer materially changes this agreement, I will be asked to accept the new version before participating further. A new version applies only to sessions I attend after I accept it. It does not replace or change the version that governs sessions I attended earlier.
Accepting a new version starts a new 12-month Coverage Period from the date I accept it.
Assumption of Risk
I understand that soccer is a physically demanding sport involving running, sudden changes of direction, physical contact and a moving ball. Participation carries inherent risks, which include but are not limited to:
- sprains, strains, twisting injuries, fractures and dislocations
- ligament, tendon and muscle injuries
- concussion and other head injuries
- dental and facial injuries
- collisions with other participants
- being struck by the ball
- falls, and abrasions or burns from artificial turf
- uneven, wet or slippery playing surfaces
- contact with goals, posts, fences or other equipment
- overexertion, heat illness and weather-related conditions
- cardiac events
- in rare cases, serious permanent injury or death
I understand that these risks can occur even when reasonable care is taken. I freely accept and assume all of these risks.
Participating Within My Limits
I understand the physical demands of the Program and will participate within my abilities. To the best of my knowledge, I have no restriction that prevents my safe participation. If I am uncertain, I will seek medical advice before participating.
I will privately tell the coach about any safety-related limitation or assistance I need, and I will stop participating if I feel unwell or injured.
Required Equipment
I understand that appropriate soccer footwear is required at every session, including a free trial class. Shin guards are optional.
Footwear requirements depend on the location. I will wear the footwear specified for that location in my booking confirmation and on the session page. Some locations permit cleats or turf shoes; others permit turf shoes only. If a venue or its footwear requirement changes, Back2Soccer will notify me before the session.
I am responsible for providing my own footwear, which is not available to rent. Shin guards may be rented for a fee.
I understand that I will not be permitted to participate without the required footwear.
Conduct
I agree to follow coaching instructions and facility rules, use the required equipment, report hazards and injuries promptly, and stop participating when directed for safety reasons. I will not participate while impaired by alcohol or drugs.
Release and Waiver of Claims Including Negligence
In consideration of being permitted to participate in the Program, I waive all claims for personal injury, death, or property damage or loss arising from my participation in any Program session during the Coverage Period, and I release Back2Soccer, its owners, coaches, employees, contractors and volunteers, and the owners and operators of the facilities where the Program is held (the "Released Parties"), from all liability for those claims.
THIS RELEASE INCLUDES CLAIMS ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASED PARTIES, including negligent instruction, supervision, selection or maintenance of equipment, and the condition of the premises.
Emergency Assistance
I authorize Back2Soccer to call for or arrange emergency medical assistance on my behalf if needed. I understand I am responsible for any costs of that assistance that are properly payable by me.
Governing Law
This agreement is governed by the laws of British Columbia and the laws of Canada applicable in British Columbia.
Acknowledgement
By signing, I confirm that:
- I am 19 years of age or older
- I have read and understood this entire agreement
- I understand that by signing I am giving up my right to sue the Released Parties, including for their negligence
- I had the opportunity to ask questions before signing
- I am signing freely and voluntarily
